Giving Back

null

Here in Papillion I am running an awesome special to help give back to the community. The Food Bank is running low on supplies and with the holidays coming up I believe it is very important to give back to those in need. Right now if you come in to sign a new lease and bring 10 dry food items, I will remove the $10 processing fee. If you bring 15 or more, I will remove the processing fee and take half off of your 2nd months rent! We are trying to replenish the food bank so every little bit helps. If you are not interested in renting a unit and would still like to help you can drop your items off at :
921 Cedardale Rd. in Papillion.

Most-Needed Food Items:
Peanut butter
Macaroni and cheese
Canned tuna and chicken
Cereal
Pancake mix
Canned fruit and vegetables
Pork and beans
Pasta and sauce
Boxed meals

Oversizing

5x10-with-furniture-2    In the years that I have been operating storage facilities there remains one consistency…..people always think they need a bigger size storage unit than what is actually needed.

Before using storage, it is a good idea to think things through, and decide what you would like your storage unit to do for you. For example: if you are going to be leaving your belongings stored away while out of town or just not using them, then you want to get the smallest possible unit, and pack everything tightly. If you have decided that using a storage unit will be part of your new lifestyle either from not having enough room, or moving from a large house into an apartment or condo, you may want to get a storage unit 35% bigger than what you had expected just to allow yourself the room inside to make seasonal changes, or to locate stored items much easier. Whatever the end result is for you, either bigger or smaller, you will enjoy your storage experience much more if you think these things through, and work with your property manager to make the right decision.

I would really enjoy getting some feedback from you readers out there, concerning my blog. Those of you who take the time to write a comment will receive 1/2 off of their application fee when leasing a unit from me. Hope to hear from you!

Dino’s on SE 14th in Des Moines, Iowa

Hello I would like to introduce myself; my name is Jill Madonia. I am the Property Manager at the Dino’s Storage located at 5327 SE 14th in Des Moines, IA. (515) 953-3466.
Dino's Storage SE 14th

I have recently joined the spectacular Dino’s team a few short months ago. I am really proud to manage such a great facility. Like ALL Dino’s facilities, my facility is kept clean and secure! Those of you that are familiar with my south side Des Moines location, know us not only by our great storage reputation BUT also know us by the “Spiritual Quotes” that we put up weekly on our outside reader board. This is something Dino’s takes seriously and is honored to receive the wonderful comments we get from people on these quotes. I even get phone calls from people who are unable to drive by to read the board and they want to know what the quote is for the week. This is truly wonderful! With that said, you will find at my facility a warm welcome and eagerness to help you with any storage questions. I believe in treating people with kindness and respect.
My inventory on units range from 5×5, 10×4, 10×5, 5×10, 5×15, 10×10, 10×15, 10×20 or 10×30. I have climate and non-climate controlled units available. We require NO DEPOSIT, ONLY a $10 Application Fee. Your unit is pro-rated for the month when moving in. We rent on a month-to-month basis so you are never stuck with a long term lease! The facility is fully gated and secured with cameras with audio. I also carry about every item needed when packing to move or to store your items. My supplies include: boxes, tape, bubble wrap, packing peanuts, mattress covers, chair and sofa covers, picture pouches, disc locks and much more…
Give me a call or stop by and let me show you some storage units and take the worry and stress out of your storage experience! Don’t forget to ask about our monthly special!!
Now I will end with this by -Aesop

Do you remember your first day?

First and foremost, I would like to take this time to thank everyone at Dino’s for being so kind in welcoming me to the company. I am new to the storage business and it has been an exciting change of pace for me. The dedication and support from co-workers is amazing, which makes my job that much easier. I can say the same about the tenants here at the Cedardale location. They have been nothing less then helpful and welcoming. The people that I have met in my first months with Dino’s are excited about the change and new policies I have been trying to implement, which makes me excited to keep on diving in to help make renting from us easy. I cannot wait to see what is in store for me here in the future!

TEMPERATURE CONTROL / CLIMATE CONTROL / HUMIDITY CONTROL-WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN?

The world of public storage is changing; and just as with everything else, you now have multiple choices.  It can be hard to know what you need if you don’t know what it all means. Temperature control and climate control are basically the same thing.  Many people make the mistake of thinking climate control means humidity control;  but they are actually two different things.

Climate controlled storage spaces (also known as “temperature controlled” ) are cooled in the summer and heated in the winter.  Severe hot or cold weather can damage items in storage units over a period of time.  Things like wood furniture, electronics & media, wax, vinyl records, appliances, photos, & paintings tend to warp, crack, split, discolor.  Most climate control facilities maintain a steady temperature of 50-80 degrees.  As a general rule, the temperature in a climate-controlled storage unit should not fall below freezing in the winter or rise above 90 degrees in the summer.  If the temperature in the region you live exceeds 90 degrees in the summer but does not freeze in the winter, air-conditioning would be a viable option to consider.  Same with only extreme cold temperatures – a heated storage unit would work well.  If your area experiences both extreme hot and cold temperatures, climate control is a definite must.

Humidity controlled storage spaces control and reduce humidity.  Moisture and mold are two of the leading causes of damage.  The best way to protect against humidity is to keep the air from going stale. Humidity controlled facilities are equipped with humidifiers that constantly circulate the air and reduce the amount of actual water vapor. Humidity is measured by percent. Between 25% – 45% is dry and 50% – 75% is normal.  Most humidity controlled facilities keep the environment at no less than 40% and no more than 70%. This is the perfect choice of storage environments if you are storing musical instruments, fine furniture, electronics & media, paintings, fabrics, photos, irreplaceable items like precious family heirlooms or memorabilia, business documents and papers.  It is especially important to choose this type of storage facility if you live in an area which has moderate to high humidity levels combined with high and or low temperatures.  This is because the damaging effects of extreme temperatures on your belongings are multiplied when moisture is in the air as well.

Dino’s Storage facilities offer the comfort of climate control with the benefits of humidity control in one space.  So you can rest assured that your valuables are secure in the best storage environment available.

Never Give Up…Dino’s Storage Keeps Their Vows

Dino’s Storage will not give up and cave in to a faithless society.  Dino’s Storage keeps their vows to our customers.

Definition of vow: a set of promises committing one to a prescribed role, calling or course of action, typically to marriage or a monastic career.

Breaking of vows is more common than most want to believe.  Our society has developed the expectation that keeping our word isn’t a top priority, more of a minor detail.  Take the airline companies for example, they overbook a large percent of their seats to compensate for expected no shows.  I don’t understand how this is acceptable. Seldom have I heard someone say “my flight was overbooked” but more “they lost my luggage or we don’t get a drink/snack during flight any longer”.  Which leads me to believe the reason why airlines overbook is because we are not sticking to our word on showing up.  Other examples include business practices, sport teams, parenthood and marriage.

The generation of my great grandparents, keeping a vow was normal practice and an expectation of society.  Those who would not keep their vows were shunned by others around them and commonly people would stop doing business with those.  Evolution from that generation to the current one, is the fulfillment of a vow is conditional.

Dino’s Storage will not give up and or give into this practice.  We value our customers and keep our vow to them.  Ultimately Dino’s Storage wants to help people who have too much stuff.  Whether that be for a minimal moment in time to organize a house that you want to put on the market or you want to preserve items for your future generations.  Dino’s Storage wants to continue to move the bar forward and set industry standards by staying true to our word.

At Dino’s Storage our number one priority is treating our customers and employees with the highest degree of service while preserving our vows as a company and who we are.

If you want to do business with a company with values and true to their word, contact us.  Dino’s Storage never gives up and keeps to their vows.  Visit our website to contact your nearest location at www.dinosstorage.com or www.dinosstorage.ca

Everlasting Impression

Our mission statement is to engage with the life events of the customer while providing physical presence that speaks the needs of the consumer.

One of the most important things to Dino’s Storage is our customers; we couldn’t fulfill your need without you. With that being said, we are always intrigued on how you came to the decision to rent from Dino’s, how your experience is going while you are a customer and ask your opinion when you move out.

When submitting a move out form through our website there is a spot for comments.  This form is sent to the manager at the location you rented at and me, the operations manager. I look at every one of these to see overall what the customer thoughts were when they finished the need for storage.

Below is a comment from a recent move out submitted by a customer at the SE 14th location in Des Moines, Iowa:

“The facility is GREAT – I am always able to access my unit which has stored my Camaro during the winter months. I am certain that I will be returning this fall to store the car again. The facility Manager was very good to work with and when I started to rent it last fall he explained everything to me in detail and made me feel comfortable about it. This is the first time that I have ever rented a storage unit in my life, and I had a good experience in doing so. Great to know that there are still companies like this that serves the customer’s needs with great customer service. Thanks!”

We go out of our way to have you leave with an ever lasting impression when you are finished with your need. When you have a need for storage again you know who to come to as you already have an experience to re-connect with.
